The Stock Take Assistant supports the School Shop Manager during the Bi-annual inventory period. This is a temporary position focused on stock counting, organisation, data accuracy, and preparation of the shop for the new academic year.
The role requires precision, reliability, discretion, and the ability to work efficiently within a structured process.

Strong attention to detail

Comfortable working with numbers
Able to work independently after instruction
Respectful of confidentiality (pricing, margins, internal processes)
Have basic IT skills
Count all merchandise accurately (uniforms, branded items, unbranded items, accessories, etc.)
Follow stock-take procedures as instructed
Record quantities clearly and correctly
Double-check discrepancies when required
Reorganise shelves and storage areas during counting
Ensure products are correctly labelled and sized
Identify damaged, missing, or obsolete items
Input stock data into the inventory system
Maintain accuracy and attention to detail
Report any inconsistencies immediately to the School Shop Manager
Assist in preparing the shop for back-to-school opening
Organise uniforms by size and house
Support restocking and merchandising where needed
Temporary assignment
Physical work (lifting boxes, standing for extended periods)
Teamwork with the School Shop Manager and assistants
Busy and fast-paced environment
Undertake any other tasks which may be reasonably required by the School Shop Manager to assist in the smooth running of the School Shop
Understand and implement all school policies and procedures, particularly those relating to safeguarding children and young people
Understand the School’s Guiding Principles and uphold the ethos of the School at all times
