Ensure that electricity flows in SwitzerlandPurchasing activities
As a Category Manager, you will join the team responsible for the electrical systems purchasing family for substations (Gas and Air Insulator Switchgears / Electrical Integrators ). You will have the following tasks:
- Be responsible for all procurement related to this activity, including purchases within the scope of the LMP/OMP and in compliance with Swissgrid directives and regulations
- Act as the main contact for Grid Project Managers
- Join the Grid Asset & Maintenance Procurement team, based in Aarau, Lausanne, and (Castione) Bellinzona
- Plan, coordinate, and carry out acquisitions for your assigned purchasing families
- Be responsible for monitoring and reporting on your procurement activities
- Conduct evaluations and negotiations during the contract award process, including contract guarantees
- Manage amendments and claims from contractual partners concerning your purchasing categories
- Use SAP S4 and Ariba as part of your daily work tools
Strategic activities
You will be responsible for driving the purchasing strategy for your category, working closely with various departments (such as Project Management, Finance, Asset Management, and Maintenance) to consolidate supplier panels, while implementing value levers and initiating actions to control costs, risks, and supplier performance in your designated purchasing categories.
This is how you make a differenceYou have a background in purchasing or a technical field, with a strong understanding of procurement processes. You are well-versed in public procurement legislation and have experience in the energy or infrastructure sectors. Recognized as a skilled negotiator, you are capable of managing conflicts and setting priorities that align with the interests of both projects and the company. For this position, we are seeking an entrepreneurial individual with a high level of commitment and autonomy, capable of driving change. You also have the following:
- Strong analytical skills
- A team player, able to unite people around your initiatives
- Very good knowledge of SAP and purchasing modules, as well as MS Office tools
- A responsible, solution-oriented approach to work
- Fluency in either German or French, with excellent knowledge of the other language and English
