The Role
This role is based in our FAS Medic SA site in Switzerland (Palézieux or Versoix).
The Technical Sales & Product Engineer/ Specialist supports the commercial growth of IMI Life Science by combining strong technical sales capabilities with product and application expertise. The role acts as a key technical interface between customers, sales teams, and internal engineering and product teams, supporting opportunity qualification, solution definition, and customer engagement throughout the sales cycle. Through close interaction with customers and field teams, the position also captures market and application insights that contribute to product development, technical content creation, and product launch readiness.
Main responsibilities
- Develop deep product expertise and their use in customer applications.
- Identify and recommend appropriate product solutions based on customer technical requirements and application needs.
- Provide advanced technical support to both internal teams and external customers throughout the sales cycle.
- Perform technical and commercial qualification of new business opportunities, including feasibility assessments and prepare technical proposals and quotations.
- Coordinate development activities by submitting APQP projects to engineering, manufacturing, quality, and purchasing teams.
- Act as the primary technical interface between customers and internal teams, including communicating and securing customer approval for product or process changes initiated by manufacturing.
- Deliver product and application training to customers and internal teams.
- Support field sales activities through customer visits, conferences, product demonstrations, technical presentations, and troubleshooting support when required.
- Support customers in evaluating and testing solutions both remotely and on-site.
- Capture unmet customer needs, application challenges, and technical insights from field interactions to help inform product development and the product roadmap.
- Translate customer requirements into valuable technical content such as application notes, use cases, and case studies.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation including application notes, manuals, FAQs, comparison guides, and case studies.
What we are looking for
- Engineering or Technical background acquired through education and/or professional experience (e.g. engineering, technician / HES) ideally with fluidics, electrical engineering and software
- Strong technical aptitude and understanding of complex engineering solutions and customer applications.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to translate technical requirements into practical solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts clearly to both technical and commercial audiences.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with sales, engineering, product management, and manufacturing teams.
- Hands-on, solution-oriented approach with the ability to independently prepare demonstrations, tests, and customer interactions.
- Fluency in both French and English (spoken and written)
- Willingness to travel internationally when required
- Valid work permit to work in Switzerland
