Job description
This is a new created individual contributor role, reporting into the Global Sales Director Strategic Accounts. The position is home-based and will focus on the commercial relationship with a global supermarket chain, headquartered in Germany.
The objective is to develop together with the client and with the client's private label suppliers innovative and sustainable packaging solutions for food, beverage, beauty personal care and home care products.
The scope of the role is mostly Germany, but since the account is a global company, you will be involved in international projects, liaising with other teams in different countries and business lines.
The main responsibilities of the role can be summarized as follows:
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with the client, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.
- Customer Engagement: Proactively engage with customers, addressing their concerns and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Develop and Execute Sales Strategies: Create and implement effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets and grow the share of wallet at the client.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as R&D, Product Marketing and Operations, to align sales strategies with overall business goals.
- Sales Data Analysis: Analyse sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular sales reports to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and future plans.
Candidate profile
We are looking for a candidate with several years of experience in a similar key account management role focusing on large retail customers.
A previous background in the packaging industry for any market (food, beverage, beauty, cosmetics, personal care, home care) would be a strong plus.
We would consider as well candidates with experience in large consumer good retailers, who have a background in private label category management / procurement, with a strong business mindset and who are willing to move in their career to an account management role.
In terms of educational background, we expect a degree or equivalent professional qualification in business administration, sales, marketing or similar field.

Languages:
- Fluent German
- Fluent English
Travel:
- The role requires regular travel to the client's facilities as well to the clients's private label suppliers.
